· General Information The purpose of the Planning Board shall be to regulate and to administer such laws and regulations as fall within its jurisdiction, in accordance with the laws of New Hampshire. · Planning Board Members Chris Demers (ex-officio Commissioner) Sandy Schmid -Chair Janice Neubauer– Vice Chair, Tom Eighmy, Carol Modrell Beverly Hasbrouck (alternate), Florence Hartmann (alternate) · Activities The Planning Board continues to update our Zoning Ordinance for better protection of our community and lakes. The proposed zoning ordinance amendments were unanimously approved at the March 8, 2008 Annual Meeting. Work projects for this year include fencing around the Mt. Lakes wells, updating the Master Plan, mapping the wetlands & culverts, continued enforcement of the zoning ordinance and increased community involvement and education. The Planning Board has updated the Mt. Lakes Maps which are kept in the Office and identify maintained and unmaintained roads, District owned property, and lots with houses and houses under construction. The Planning Board carefully created a new survey which was sent to all Mt Lakes lot owners in October, 2006. The results are helping us understand present priorities and set future direction. 2006 Survey Results From September, 2006-March, 2007 the Planning Board’s Watershed Advisory Committee, in conjunction with Granite State Rural Water Association has created a Watershed Management Plan. The well-researched document is complete and lists potential threats to our watershed and recommendations to remediate the threats. The plan is available in the office or here (Mt Lakes Watershed Plan).
